Production of Ethyl Alcohol

    The construction of the plant of Bektemir spirit experimental plant corporation producing 300.0 thousand dl per annum was initiated due to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 581-f dated 14.12.2006. 

Form of the entity and shares of the shareholders, including the stake of the government: Corporation with listed shares, government stake is 51%. In 2007 production of the food rectified spirit from grains was commissioned in capacity of 899-915 dl of spirit per annum. Main type of the product is food rectified spirit produced in following blends: Extra, Highest Purification, corresponding to the requirements of GOST 5962-67. Capacities and manufacturing equipment are made in Russia. We keep external economic relations with Russia and soon we plan to have cooperation with Italy and other states. Food rectified spirit is produced in following blends: Lux, Extra, Highest Purification all corresponding to GOST 5962-67.

Shares are distributed as the following: government stake is 51%, Employees at the plant - 9%, free emission - 40%. Yangiyul biochemical plant, nowadays Biokhimyo Corporation has started its activity in 1957 since the commissioning of hydrolyze-spirit works with projected capacity of 170 thousand dl of technical spirit annually. Main supply to produce technical spirit was vegetative supply – wood sawdust and rice shucks. The process of obtaining technical spirit is based on microbiological fermentation of hexose sugars obtained in hydrolyze of vegetative raw supply. In present time technical spirit is made by repeated distillation of the fraction of the headed ethyl spirit (ether-aldehyde fraction) - side product of ethyl spirit from grain. 

In 1996 the complex to produce rectified ethyl spirit from grain was commissioned (food spirit). Main supply to make the spirit is wheat grown in the Republic of Uzbekistan. In present period Biokhimyo Corporation produces food spirit of the following blends: Highest Purification, Extra, Lux. All the products are certified by Uzstandart agency according to acting norms and technical documentation. In the production of food spirit the international standard quality management system ISO 9001:2000 is introduced. Relevant certificate is issued by Association of certification “Russian registry” (Russia) and has international status. Experts of Biokhimyo Corporation constantly conduct the work towards increasing the quality of ready made products, in part, due to their recommendation in the unit of fermento-rectification of the food spirit workshop of food spirit additional column of final purification was installed, providing the ability to significantly improve organoleptic and physic-chemical indicators of the ready made products. Significant volume of work was made in implementing the new more efficient enzymatic drugs and new race of spirit yeast to the production. 

Industrial capacity of the entity: industrial capacity of Biokhimyo Corporation to make food rectified spirit (food spirit) is 821,4 thousand dl per annum, ethyl rectified technical spirit - 170 thousand dl annually. Main products of Biokhimyo Corporation are: 

• food rectified spirit (food spirit); 

• ethyl rectified technical spirit. 

Food spirit is produced according to GOST 5962-67. Main consumers of the food spirit are producers of liquor-alcohols and wine of HK Uzwineindustrial Holding sector. Besides, food spirit is used in medicine, pharmacy and food industry. 

Technical spirit is made according to requirements of GOST 18300-87. It is used in cable production and perfume industries, research and industrial labs, in chemical and other industrial sectors. 

Technical and qualitative properties of the production required for exports. Presently all produced volume is completely consumed in the Republic of Uzbekistan. In case of exports we may propose to potential customers food rectified spirit (food spirit) with blends of Highest Purification, Extra, Luz, fully complying to the requirements of acting norms and technical regulations. At the same time the spirit we make has quite well organoleptic indicators.

By the order of Andijan City Mayor’s Office № 662-К dated 19.10.2001, the order of State committee for property of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 167-К от 07.11.2000 Andijan Biokhimyo Plant was reorganized to Andijan Biokhimyo Plant Corporation. Stake of the government - 51%. Foreign investor - 45%, employees of the plant - 4%. Production of Andijan Biokhimyo Plant Corporation was initiated in 1953; the entity has been specializing to make hydrolyzed products. Later on it was reoriented to produce spirit. 

Industrial capacity of the entity: 1-st line of producing food rectified spirit with capacity of 856,6 dl of spirit from grain per annum was handed over to exploitation in 1994. 2-d line of producing food rectified spirit from grain with capacity of 856,6 dl of spirit per annum was commissioned in 2001. 

Assortment of the products made, production annual volume and short features of the products by blends: Main type of product is food rectified spirit made in following blends – Extra, Highest Purification, Lux complying to the requirements of GOST 5962-67. Consumers of the ready made products are the wine and alcohol producing plants, belonging to HK Uzwineindustrial Holding. Besides spirit manufacturing works, the entity has the works to produce carbon acids — 4380 MT/year; line to make pharmacy drugs in the assortment of the production: solution of 5% spirit iodide - 1,5 MT/year; solution of 1% brilliant green - 0,8 MT/year; medical spirit 70% - 21 MT/year. Consumers of pharmacy drugs are the entities of Dori-Darmon Corporation.

Government stake - 51%; share of foreign investments - 47%; share of employees at the plant - 2%. Novokokand chemical plant (now Quqon Spirit Corporation) started functioning in 1983. Main types of products were sulfuric acid (500 thousand MT/year) и ammophos (163,5 thousand MT/year). Renovated entity started its activities in 1995, initial capacity was 1,6 mio dl per annum. Second sequence to make food spirit with industrial capacity of 0,8 mio dl was initiated in 2000. Overall industrial capacity is 2464,2 thousand dl. 

Presently actual load of industrial capacity is 95.9%. Based on the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 511 dated 26.11.1999 “On measures to denationalization and privatization of the entities along with attracting foreign investments in 2000-2001” and the letter of IC “Quqon” № 01–629 dated 26.09.2000 the order of the State committee for property of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 153K-PO dated 10.10.2000 was issued to reorganize IC “Quqon” into Quqon Spirit Corporation. Today Quqon Spirit Corporation is one of the largest industrial centers of chemical and food sectors, both in Uzbekistan and in Central Asia being structural unit of the Uzspiritindustry Corporation. 

Short review of physical and geographical conditions of the location of the entity:

Quqon Spirit Corporation has overall area of 26,45 hectares and is located in Fergana valley in 7 km to the southeast from the city of Kokand, approximately 350 km to the east from Tashkent. Territory of the province in contiguous on the south with the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, on the north with Namangan province and on the east with Andijan province. Northern part of the province is taken by Kushtepa massive and Yazvan steppe, bordering from the south by cones of river bringouts, flowing from Altay ridge. On the south it is the striae of adyrs, replaced by piedmonts of Altay ridge. Fergana valley has the shape of oval, prolonged from the west to the east. From the northwest it is limited by Mogoltau mountains, Kirama ridge, from the north – Chatkal ridge, from the east – Fergana ridge, from south – Altay and Turkestan ridges. Rivers flowing down from surrounding mountains when entering the plain created cones of bringouts of Shakhimardan, Isfaram and other rivers. In northern part of the province there flows Syrdarya river. From Turkestan ridge there come rivers of Sokh, Shakhimardan, Isfara. Territory of the province increases in height from north to the south from 320 meters on plain part to 500-1000 meters and 3000 meters in adyr and piedmont parts. Shape of the area is comparatively even, with slight inclination towards northern direction. Climate of the county is sharply continental with average annual temperature +13,4°С. Summer temperatures are changing within the range of 21+42°С. Winter is comparatively smooth, minimal temperature in January –2,8°C, although sometimes cold reaches –40°С. Average amount of осадков – 98 mm, width of snow cover – 6 mm. Depth of frost penetration 0,6-0,7 мм. Prevailing wind direction is to south-west and west. Maximal wind speed is 17-20 m/sec. Earthquake Seismicity of the county is 8 points. Rate of atmosphere stratification - 200. Railroad station Kakir is located in 3 km to the southeast and linked with the entity by railroad branch implied to accept supplies and materials as well as sales of manufactured products. Industrial capacity of the entity is 2464,2 thousands dl.
